What is a book???

To me a book is a new world, a place where you can escape all of the bad things in your life for hours and be in your own fantasy world where you can’t be hurt. A good book has the power to suck you in and never let you out (once you read it you will always remember it and read it more than once). A book is like a black whole, because a black hole also sucks you in and never lets you out. To me it doesn’t matter if I am reading a book on a kindle/Ipad/nook or if I am reading a paperback or hardback book. It doesn’t really matter because you are still reading the same book it is not like they change all of the words in the book it. Also because in the long run it is cheaper to buy a kindle for  $79.00 and get books for $9.00 or $10.00 dollars instead of buying a 30.00 dollar book. There is nothing really magical about a book to me it is still the same story like I said before, but it is definitely magical to some other people. Q. who and why do you think some people like to read from an actual book compared to a kindle/Ipad. And who and why doesn’t like to read from books A. I think that authors and parents like to read from a book because they have been reading hardback and paperback books there whole life. Also a lot of parents and authors belong to libraries, and they can check out many books for free. And I think that kids like to read from a kindle or an Ipad because all of the kids just want the new technology. Also a lot of kids don’t belong to libraries and if they do they most likely don’t get books they probably get movies or CD’s.

  1. I liked your analogy to books being black holes, except, in black holes you can’t escape and in books hopefully you can once in your life! But I liked your ideas about why people read books vs. Kindles or I Pads, it was really interesting.

  2. I agree that a book is a new world that you can explore. It is also cheaper if you buy it on a kindle thats true. But i think that books like paper and such should never leave.

  3. I really like how you compared a book to a new world. I would agree with you completely! Stories have the tendency to take a reader to a new place with new adventures.
